Velvety Wines

Monica Peñas, an energetic and passionate young winemaker, leapt at the chance to use grapes from her husband's family vineyards. These are in the more remote, western area of the Ribera del Duero region, around the town of Pesquera de Duero. Here, the Duero valley is much narrower, allowing vineyards to be planted on the valley slopes, at altitudes around 800 to 900 metres. They have roughly 25 Hectares in total, spread over many small parcels in the Valderramiro valley, a tributory to the main Duero valley.
